Mid-Week Q&A

So on twitter and Instagram, I asked you guys to send me some questions for me to answer, so you can all find out a little bit more about me!

The first question is from Gemma,

If you could do any job then what would it be and why?

I think my life time goal job would be, doing personal training on the beaches of Australia. I mean come on, sun, sea, beaches all year round?! Minus all the creepy crawlies..

The next question is from DenbraberBeauty

Why did you start blogging and when?

One of the main reasons why I started blogging because my Aunite does. Whenever I saw her, we would talk about blogging and I was going to make one a few years back but I had no time, so after exams I finally created one and I do not regret it at all! Another reason I started blogging is because I never really had much confidence, I used to be quite nervous about doing certain things or being around people I didn’t really know, but I knew that if I started blogging I would probably come out of my shell a bit more because I can voice my opinions and I can’t see the people that are reading and judging me.

DenbraberBeauty also asked

how long does it take you to write a blog post?

It really depends on what sort of post it is, if it’s a sit down long chatty post, It would take me a few days, because I tend to write it and read over it several times to make sure everything makes sense ect, but I can easily do 1-2 haul posts a day, without including editing and taking pictures ect.

The next question is from desire4beauty

What would you tell your 13 year old self?

To not care what anyone else thinks. I used to be that girl that cared about what everyone thought of me, and when I used to get ‘hated on’ I always blamed myself and thought I wasn’t good enough for anyone. But as I have got older I have realised that you can’t make everyone happy so there is no point in even trying. Wear something because you want to wear it, Be someone that you want to be, don’t change to be liked or you will never be happy.

This question is from Charlotte

Which blog post have you enjoyed writing the most and why?

I have really only been blogging 4/5 months so I haven’t really written many posts, however my favourite one so far has to be looking back over 2015, throughout the year you make so many memories that you start to forget some, so looking back and remembering everything was really nice.

Where is your happy place?

I think I have a few happy places, one would be at my Nan&Grandad’s house, ever since I can remember we always used to go to theirs every Sunday for a roast dinner; which were honestly the best, however sadly my Nan got unwell so is no longer able to cook for all 7 of us! But I still get too see them once a week when they come over to my house for tea! I know if I’m ever in trouble I will always be allowed to stay around their house, I will get given enough food to feed at least 500 people (Does anyone else put on at least 5lbs when they visit their Grandparents)?!! When im there I just feel very happy. I think another happy place would be a track, just me, my spikes and the track, running for me is the way I deal with stress ect and training at college is one of the times I do not think about anything else.. because nothing else really matters.

Favourite memory?

Over the last 17 years I have made some amazing memories, many that I never want to forget. I think one that really sticks out for me is going to the London Anniversary Games last year, because I saw Jess Ennis-Hill compete; I think every girl athlete wants to be as good as her, I felt like crying after every race because I know how hard it is to train, and when you win, It is honestly the best feeling ever. This is one memory that will stick with me forever.

Favourite Track to compete at?

I have been doing athletics for the past 6 years and I have competed at many different tracks, however my favourite ones to compete at have been either the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham as it was my first experience of competing in a national stadium, or the Warwick University track- It’s Blue..

That was my Mid-week Q&A, I hope you enjoyed reading it!

I would like to thank everyone that gave me questions to answer, I have also reached 300 followers on Twitter; It may not sound like a lot, but I always thought my Mum would be the only one following and reading my blog!

The Beauty Blogger Award

Hey guys!

Another mid week post! What happened to only uploading once a week!

Anyway, I have been nominated for the beauty bloggers award by Georgia , Thank you for nominating me! I love her blog however she does make me want to buy too much with her latest blog posts- ahah I need to stop spending.

I am very pleased to say that this is the second award I have been nominated for this year, creating this blog has been one of the best decisions I have made- I have made so many new friends, learnt lots of new tips and most importantly, I have so far enjoyed every moment of blogging and I’m sure I will continue to love it!

The questions from Georgia

Who is your girl/boy celeb crush?

My boy celeb crush would have to be David Beckham, I don’t always find tattoo’s attractive, however he just looks good with them!

Who is your style icon?

I wouldn’t really say I have a style icon, I kind of go for clothes I like the look of and see what I can make work with it.

What is your favourite drugstore foundation?

Like I have mentioned in various previous posts, I never wear foundation, I just don’t like how it feels on my skin (I tend to just want to take it off as soon as I walk out the door) so I stick to my trusty Nivea tinted moisturising day cream as it feels light on my skin and still gives me coverage.

Which 10 people (dead or alive) would you invite to a dinner party?

1, Obviously David Beckham, 2, Jessica Ennis-Hill 3, Mo Farah, 4, James Corden, 5, Michael Mcintyre 6, Miranda Hart 7, Karl Pilkington 8,Marco Pierre White 9, Jimmy Carr, 10, Beyonce (I looks like I’m in for a funny night!)

How do you survive early mornings?

To be honest, I have always been quite an early morning person, at weekends I’ve awake before 9am, I just think having a lie in is just a waste of a day! However since being at college and having to get up at 6:30am, I don’t think I do survive; I tend to get ready half asleep, hence why I hardly wear make-up because I simply cannot be bothered, I then get on the bus for 1 and a half hours, in which I just sleep alot and listen to music to try and wake myself up before I get to college. (I still can’t tell if I’m fully awake when I get to college though)

What is your favourite winter coat?

I brought this coat from QUIZ a couple of years a go and I love it. It’s quite long and black, It has a furry strip between the coat and the hood (quite possibly the worst description ever) But it’s just so cosy and warm. This is the closest thing on the website that looks like it because I did buy it about 2 years go!

Where is your make up bag from?

Ted Baker.

What one outfit would you wear for the rest of your life and why?

My Boohoo white jeans, with my comfy Asos boots with a crop top and a jumper- You could wear this outfit in the winter or in the summer which I like alot and at the minute I have an obsession with black and white so I feel like this outfit is very me!

You can find this outfit on my Instagram.

Do you prefer hot or cold weather?

100% Hot weather! I hate the cold, and plus hot weather means summer which means sun, holidays, family, and I get a tan which I love- I hate feeling pale.

What is one beauty related goal that you have?

To become more adventurous with lipstick colours throughout the different seasons.

Sisterhood Of The World Award

I am very happy to announce that I have been nominated for the ‘Sisterhood of the World Award’. This is where female bloggers nominate other female bloggers that feel like sisters to them or have helped them out with blogging.

I am very grateful for my nomination from Lindsey  as I am fairly new to the blogging society, however I like the fact that you can make so many friends and meet so many new people through blogging.

Here are my questions

  1. Do you have any pets?– Yes, I have two cats.

My auntie blogs, and I always wanted to do it as a hobby, and I thought about making one with my sister a few years ago, but I was too young and I didn’t have enough time on my hands, so when I started talking to my auntie about blogging during the summer holidays, I realised I would have enough time before college started to sort my blog out, write a few posts and see what happened.
  6. Tea or coffee? Herbal tea or coffee.
  7. If you could travel anywhere on earth where would you go and why? Back to Australia, because It’s a huge place, I’d go and see my family out there, I’d like to go back and see more of the barrier reef and maybe travel up north.

  10. What piece of advice would you give your younger self? That even though some girls are horrible, do not let it get you down, do what you want, do what you love and If people want to judge, let them judge. Don’t do something to satisfy someone else.

New Year Resolutions

I’m fairly good at writing new year resolutions and sticking to them, so this year I have decided to share mine with you guys so that I can go back to this post at the end of the year to see if I managed to stick to all of them.

  • Drink more water

Drinking water is very important and unfortunately I know I don’t drink enough, especially as I’m a runner. So I want to purchase  one of these cool drinking bottles that say how much you should be drinking through out the day.Drink-More-Water-Brita-Water-Bottle.jpg

  • Create a memory jar

Me and one of my old friends did this one year; It’s where you have a jar, and every day you write down a memory or something that made you smile, and then at the end of the year, you look back through the jar and relive your memories.

  • Think less/ do more

This year I spent too many nights over thinking and making situations 10x worse in my head than what they already were. So this year I want to try and stop myself from thinking too much, and try to live life in the moment, say yes to doing more things that I enjoy. A spoke a bit about this in another blog post.

  • Get the grades at college

As I still don’t really know what I want to do when I’m older, I want to try my best at college and get all Distinctions in my coursework, so far I have managed to do this, but I want to ensure that I always try my best to allow me to take the next steps with my education or career.

  • Get a job

Now I have settled into college, and I know what the work load is like, I need to start looking for a job. I babysit and do extra jobs at weekends, but I think I need to have a part time weekend job.

  • To step out of my ‘outfit’ comfort zone

After talking to Martina, from awardrobeinprogress, I realised that many of the clothes I wear are boring-either white or black. Mainly because I don’t have the confidence to wear bright colours, so this year I want to experiment with my clothes.

  • Have fun

This is the most important resolution that I am making. It’s not because I wasn’t having fun in 2015, or I wasn’t happy, just looking back I didn’t enjoy the year as much as I should of.

My best memories of 2015.

So 2015 has been a whirlwind year for me, and I’ve decided to relive some of the happy memories with you through pictures

Croatia 2

ICroatia 3
For the last few years my family and I have gone for a weeks holiday during the May bank holiday to sail with some of our best family friends. This year we sailed around the islands of Croatia. I love these holidays because It is a week full of laughter and fun. Although we did have one sail where the winds were 50 knots (about 55 mph winds) .. thought I was going to die.

When I was 6 years old, my Grandpa and Grandma moved to Spain, It’s difficult to see them often because it’s not that easy to fly/drive over there for a weekend. However this year for our summer holiday we went and stayed with them. It was so nice to have a catch up, learn about the new bugs that Grandpa had caught over the last few years and all the new plants Grandma had planted (I lost count after 50!)

We went for a day trip to Gibraltar, finally fulfilling my dream of actually meeting a monkey and now I know where the expression ‘Cheeky Monkey’ actually comes from!

London Anniversary games
London Anniversary Games
Going to the London Anniversary Games was the first Athletics event I had ever been too. I honestly felt like I wanted to cry every time someone won because I know how much effort you have to put in every training session just for once race. I have to admit this has been one of my favourite memories from 2015 and I will never forget it.

Me, Beth, Kaiyan.

Me and Beth.

I will never forget prom. It was the last time I will see the majority of my friends from secondary school as we are all going our separate ways, but  even though it’s sad, I will always look back at prom and the last 5 years on all the laughs and memories that I have created with everyone and it will always make me smile.
